THE DAILY PRAYER BRIEFING

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins is preparing to travel to the United Kingdom to seek new markets for American agricultural products.

USDA Secretary Rollins

The USDA secretary will later head to Japan to follow up on President Donald Trump's trade deal. She expressed hope that the agreement with Japan would mitigate some of the losses of exports to China under the current tariffs.

Secretary Rollins said, "Eight billion [dollars] a year in commitment from Japan to bring in more soybeans, corn, ethanol, et cetera -- and that's just a massive number that's going to make a huge difference."

She continued, "We've talked a lot about China being our biggest buyer in some of these commodities, and certainly we need China, especially for soybeans and others, right now. But we have to look to other areas of the world. The new trade deal with Japan includes $550 billion in projects that the U.S. will select.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us ...
  • For discernment for Secretary Rollins as she prepares for her international trip to support America's agricultural exports.
  • For wisdom for President Trump as he continues to seek trade deals with international partners.
  • For U.S. agricultural officials to be wise in their evaluations of food production and market.
