President Trump is expected to discuss trade as well as economic and security partnership priorities with the prime minister. The United States, Canada, and Mexico have begun to conduct separate public consultations on the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement, signed during President Trump's first term, ahead of the review that is set to occur next year. While President Trump imposed a 35 percent tariff on Canadian goods earlier this year due to the flow of fentanyl into the U.S., the increase does not apply to products included in the USMCA. |
