The president will meet with the new Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. They will discuss the $550 billion in investments Japan has pledged to make in the United States. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reported last month, "Japan came through with the paperwork. They gave us $550 billion to invest for the benefit of America, build the Alaska pipeline, build nuclear power plants, make your grid better, do generic antibiotics in America."
