Dear Prayer Team Member,

Across the nation on Tuesday, November 4, states will hold midterm elections. We are calling on every member to set aside intentional time that day for prayer. Pray for:

Stand with us as we intercede, asking the Lord to move in every heart and guide every decision made at the polls, as Americans choose new state and local leaders and vote on important ballot measures.

THE DAILY PRAYER BRIEFING

The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments in two cases today.

In Rico v. United States, the justices will consider whether the fugitive tolling doctrine, which adds time to supervised release for the period a defendant is unaccounted for, is applicable under the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984.

The justices will also hear Hencely v. Fluor Corp., which questions lower courts' findings that a government contractor was protected under the Federal Tort Claims Act's exception for combatant activities despite its breach of contract and violation of military orders.

Today, the U.S. Senate will vote on a motion to invoke cloture on President Donald Trump's judicial nominee to the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. This move is expected to advance the nomination to a final vote.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us ...
  • For the justices of the high court to seek God's guidance as they hear the cases before them.
  • For Chief Justice John Roberts to be discerning as he presides over the Supreme Court.
  • For President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and Secretary Bessent as they determine how to apply U.S. economic leverage.
