THE DAILY PRAYER BRIEFING

The Supreme Court extended the pause through today of a lower court's decision that required President Donald Trump's administration to provide full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

A district judge had ruled that the Department of Agriculture must fully fund the food program after the order to use the emergency contingency fund only covered half the month of November. The circuit court upheld this ruling on appeal.

Since both chambers of Congress have moved to fund and reopen the government, the high court paused legal activity to allow for the constitutional provision that designates the "power of the purse" to the Legislative Branch.
