THE DAILY PRAYER BRIEFING

Today, the Department of the Interior's rule rescinding a 2024 rule that restricted leasing across most of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska goes into effect.

National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said, "Congress was clear: the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska was set aside to support America's energy security through responsible development. The 2024 rule ignored that mandate, prioritizing obstruction over production and undermining our ability to harness domestic resources at a time when American energy independence has never been more critical. We're restoring the balance and putting our energy future back on track."

Secretary Burgum said, "By rescinding the 2024 rule, we are following the direction set by President Trump to unlock Alaska's energy potential, create jobs for North Slope communities, and strengthen American energy security."

U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan and Representative Nick Begich of Alaska supported the rescission. The move is expected to increase oil and gas production across 23 million acres along the Arctic Ocean.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us ...
  • For God to guide President Trump and administration officials as they seek to expand and increase domestic energy production.
  • For members of the House and Senate as they assess the economic benefits and environmental impacts of oil and gas projects.
  • For Administrator Zeldin as he oversees the reviews of the Environmental Protection Agency.
