The mission directs the Energy Department to leverage the National Laboratories and create a closed-loop AI experimentation platform for supercomputers to generate scientific foundation models and power robotic laboratories. The Assistant to the President for Science and Technology (APST) will coordinate efforts of the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the national initiative, as well as the integration of data and infrastructure in the government. "The Genesis Mission connects world-class scientific data with the most advanced American AI to unlock breakthroughs in medicine, energy, materials science, and beyond," said White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios. |
