Today, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is holding Lease Sale Big Beautiful Gulf 1 (BBG1) offering approximately 80 million acres in the Gulf of America for oil and gas leasing. It is the first of 30 lease sales authorized under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The event will be livestreamed on the agency's site.

The Federal Reserve is meeting today to consider the rate of inflation and the status of the nation's employment to determine whether or not to change interest rates. Economic analysts are anticipating a .25 percentage point reduction as a result of this meeting.

The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) today. The House Rules Committee, chaired by Representative Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, approved and released the text of the 3,086-page legislation on Sunday.
