THE DAILY PRAYER BRIEFING

The U.S. Transportation Department has been taking action to hold states accountable for issuing commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) to foreign nationals who are not legally residing in the country.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) found in October that roughly 22 percent of Colorado non-domiciled commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) were issued illegally. The agency reported that many of the licenses were given to Mexican nationals, which is prohibited under federal regulations.

The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles canceled 262 CDLs this week after being warned by Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy that federal transportation funding would be withheld and the state's CDL program could be suspended.

Secretary Duffy said that the delay in the state's compliance jeopardized the safety of Americans.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us ...
  • For Secretary Duffy to be led by the Lord as he seeks to improve highway safety and ensure CDLs are properly issued.
  • For President Trump and administration officials as they continue to address foreign nationals residing in the U.S. illegally.
  • For state leaders to be discerning as they assess their transportation and license issuing programs.
