President Donald Trump is hosting a fundraising meeting and dinner at his resort home Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

The House of Representatives majority announced the rejection of a Senate-passed bill that would have funded the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), excluding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and part of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), for the balance of the 2026 fiscal year. The immigration enforcement agencies were already funded through 2029 by last summer's One Big Beautiful Bill.

Congressional majority leaders stated that they may propose an eight-week stopgap to cover DHS and its agencies so negotiations could continue.
