President Donald Trump's administration is appealing the U.S. Court of International Trade ruling, which determined that Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 does not allow the president to enact a 10 percent global tariff.

The president implemented the 10 percent tariffs after the Supreme Court ruled that, under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), he did not have the authority to impose reciprocal tariffs.

Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers is concluding her travel to Venice, Italy. In addition to meeting with Italian officials, she visited the 61st Venice Art Biennale to celebrate the opening of the 2026 U.S. Pavilion exhibition.
